The Azimuth Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWi-Fi) Handset Test Suite is software that provides automated scripts that streamline the testing of VoWi-Fi phones and converged wireless devices for carriers, handset manufacturers and semiconductor vendors with handset reference designs. The Azimuth Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWi-Fi) Test Suite measures wireless voice device performance under a variety of conditions.
The Voice over Wi-Fi Handset Test Suite enables users to:
- Thoroughly analyze the voice quality, roaming performance, and power consumption of wireless VoIP handsets under various motion and traffic conditions
- Reduce the handset testing process from days to hours
- Perform advanced handset tests that were previously difficult or impossible
- Test interoperability with commercial access points (APs) and client devices
- Bring higher quality VoWi-Fi handset products to market faster

The VoWi-Fi Test Suite includes scripts that test:
- Handset Range – assesses handset behavior as a function of distance from the Access Point. The test allows the user to program the speed of movement from the AP and the step size. While ranging, the client can send traffic using various traffic generation tools. Results tabulate and graph data rate, data rate changes, throughput, error rate, and RSSI of the handset
- Handset Roaming Performance – creates an accurate emulation of a roaming setting through precise control of the range between the handset and two different APs. While moving the client from AP to AP, the test measures the roaming time
The VoWi-Fi Test Suite is software that runs on Azimuth’s award winning W-Series platform and capitalizes on the W-Series platform’s sophisticated motion emulation and traffic generation capability in a completely isolated environment to ensure accurate, repeatable results. A standalone W-Series bundle, the VTB-VHS, is an available entry level solution for voice handset testing. All tests are managed by Azimuth's DIRECTOR™ Test Executive software, and results can be easily shared using Azimuth's STUDIO™ Test Data Management software.
