MIMO Data Client Performance Test Solutions

The Azimuth MIMO Data Client Test Solution enables fully automated range and data rate performance testing of Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) Data Clients. The available test suites leverage sophisticated motion emulation and controlled RF test conditions so that vendors can deliver high performance products to market faster through an easy-to-use, automated testing system that guarantees repeatable test results.

Azimuth’s comprehensive test solutions include controlled environment tests in both static channel and dynamic multipath channel environments. In general, maximum throughput, basic functionality and performance interoperability tests can be performed in a conducted environment that does not model reflections. Given that wireless throughput and range of MIMO devices depends, to a significant degree, on signal multipath, complete characterization of product performance requires testing in a multipath channel.

MIMO Data Client Performance Test Suite in a Static Channel

 

The Azimuth MIMO Data Client Performance Test suite in a static channel enables users to:

  • Accurately measure rate adaptation and performance over range
  • Measure performance and behavior in a variety of real-life scenarios and under different traffic loads
  • Test a wide variety of clients with 802.11a/b/g/n embedded
  • Identify and resolve critical system design problems that reduce client performance including backward compatibility and interoperability
  • Reduce test time by through accurate automated benchmarking of client performance in minutes not hours or days
  • Reproduce accurate results through the use of RadioProof™ enclosures.

The MIMO Data Client Performance Test Suite in a static channel includes the following test suite:

  • MIMO Range Performance Test Suite – A standard test script that provides a detailed analysis of data rate, throughput, packet error rate and RSSI of MIMO Systems in a flat channel environment as a function of distance from the Access Point.

The MIMO Data Client Performance Test Suite in a static channel runs on the ADEPT-n functional test platform. The ADEPT-n leverages sophisticated motion emulation in an isolated controlled RF architecture for reliable and repeatable performance as well as interoperability testing of real clients and access points. In addition, the ADEPT-n platform enables functional and protocol analysis testing using advanced built-in capture engines.

The Azimuth MIMO Data Client Performance Test Suite in a dynamic multipath channel enables users to:

  • Thoroughly stress MIMO client devices to determine performance and performance limits in a multipath environment
  • Identify and resolve critical system design problems that reduce MIMO client performance
  • Conduct true mobility testing in a repeatable efficient bench top setup
  • Reduce test time by enabling accurate automated benchmarking of MIMO client performance in minutes not hours or days
  • Reproduce accurate results through the use of RadioProof™ enclosures.

The MIMO Data Client Performance Test Suite in a dynamic multipath channel includes the following test suite:

  • Data Performance Test Suite for ACE – A standard test script that provides a detailed analysis of data rate, throughput, packet error rate and RSSI of MIMO Systems in a multipath environment as a function of distance from the Access Point.

The Data Performance Test Suite for ACE runs on the ACE™400WB/Wi-Fi Channel Emulator, which emulates a multipath environment. The tests are performed in completely isolated chambers to ensure accurate, repeatable results.

Test suites in the MIMO Data Client Performance Test Solution are managed by Azimuth's DIRECTOR II Test Executive software. All test results can be easily shared using Azimuth's STUDIO™ Test Data Management software.
