Access Point Performance Test Suite (Access Point Stress)

The Azimuth Access Point Performance Test Suite provides automated scripts that streamline performance testing of Wi-Fi infrastructure devices such as enterprise or mesh access points, retail routers and broadband modems. The tests measure critical infrastructure parameters such as association and call capacity, forwarding rate and association performance enabling vendors and service providers to:

• Thoroughly stress infrastructure devices to determine performance and performance limit
• Streamline regression testing leveraging TestMAC™ support for layer-2, layer-3, WEP, WPA, WPA2, and QoS-enabled traffic
• Reduce the Access Point testing process from days to hours
• Bring higher quality Wi-Fi Access Point products to market faster
• Generate repeatable test results using RadioProof™ enclosures

The Access Point Performance Test Suite includes scripts for:

• Association Capacity – determines the simultaneous-client capacity of the AP under test
• Association Performance – measures the time required to associate up to the client capacity of the AP with a user-specified number of test iterations
• Forwarding Rate – determines the ability of the AP to forward data traffic
• Call Capacity – measures the ability of APs, switches, and other infrastructure devices to forward and prioritize voice traffic in the presence of background data traffic

The Access Point Performance Test suite runs on Azimuth’s award winning W-Series platform. The suite leverages the W-Series platform’s sophisticated motion emulation and traffic generation capability in a completely isolated environment to ensure accurate, repeatable results. A standalone W-Series bundle, the VTB-VIS, is an available entry level solution for access point performance testing. All tests are managed by Azimuth's DIRECTOR™ Test Executive software, and results can be easily shared using Azimuth's STUDIO™ Test Data Management software.
