Azimuth TMM-101 TestMAC® Module
The TMM-101 module is a powerful test tool that emulates up to 127 WLAN softClient stations and enables users to perform rigorous and sophisticated testing of access points and wireless LAN switches on a single piece of hardware. The test tool is based on proven 802.11 silicon that is integrated with Azimuth's proprietary Layer-2 and Layer-3 test functionality. The TMM-101's support of multiple clients and its flexibility enable users to create highly customized test scenarios.
The TMM-101 supports four modes of operation:
- Client Mode - Facilitates realistic stress-testing of APs and switches by emulating up to 127 simultaneous
wireless users and generating a variety of traffic/load conditions, including security and QoS
- AP Mode – Programmable access point functions as a controlled and managed network element in performance, conformance, functional and regression testing
- Programmable Extensions - Expands testMAC multipersonality softClient and SoftAP emulation capabilities to include individual MAC- level packet generation, packet capture, and state machine programmability
- Capture Mode – Enhance packet and packet timing analysis with highly-accurate wired and wireless traffic capture
The TMM-101 offers the following features:
- Support for IEEE 802.11 a, b, and g standards
- RF subsystem with Azimuth programmable signal attenuation for virtual positioning of access points and WLAN switches
- Support for scalability testing of WLANs, WLAN switches, and access points during development
- Ability to send client RF traffic to the chassis RF backplane or front panel RF port
- Central test management and control of wireless client parameters by Azimuth DIRECTOR™ Test Executive software
