Azimuth/Agilent Integrated Solution

Azimuth Systems has created an integrated solution between the award winning Azimuth FMC test suite and the Agilent 8960 Wireless Communications Test Set to create the first lab based test solution that will allow engineers to evaluate and test the performance of their converged devices for metrics that directly impact user experiences with real-world impairments and interferences.

The integration of these two products provide a powerful combination of capabilities. Azimuth’s FMC test suite includes a set of comprehensive automated scripts that streamline the testing of FMC handsets and converged devices. Based on Azimuth’s W-Series platform, it is also capable of providing an isolated environment with controllable impairment injection to create a more real-world environment. Agilent’s 8960 test set offers essential parametric measurement plus flexible protocol triggering/analysis, and emulates a network with full connectivity to the Internet. Along with its GANC server, the 8960 provides an emulated GAN environment. The integrated solution marries the best of the two products allowing a converged handset to be tested for quality and performance on the Wi-Fi side and functional and conformance on the GSM side as well as hand-over reliability between the GAN and GSM networks. In addition, these tests can be done with a variety of real-world impairments and interferences.
